Yunjin is a kind of brocade specialty made  of silk that is very famous in Nanjing. It is  famous for its colored silk that looks like rosy  clouds. Yunjin integrates the essence of weaving  skills from past dynasties and is the best brocade  among the three famous Chinese brocades of  ancient times. As a result, Yunjin was offered  exclusively as a tribute to the royal family. It was  a kind of fabric product very popular in the  Ming and Qing dynasties and has been used for  clothes and as official rewards. Yunjin weaving  skills in Nanjing are so specialized that it cannot  be replicated by any machine. On September  30, 2009, Yunjin weaving skills in Nanjing were  listed on the Representative List of the Intangible  Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the United  Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural  Organization.

People in Nanjing have formed the  habit of eating duck for more than a  thousand years.
