Established in 1907, the Nanjing Library is the oldest public library in China and also the third largest library in the country. It was the national central library during the Republic of China.

An ultra-modern facility, the Nanjing Library covers an area of 25.000 square meters and is equipped with 3.00 seats and more than 4,000 points of information for readers.The ground floor is workspace of convention and exhibition such as the exhibition hall, multi function room, academic report hall, showing areas of six dynasties trace, ect.

 The Nanjing Library currently carries more than 12 million books. The Library is famous for the historical document collection with a holding of 1.6 million volumes of ancient books, 700,000 volumes of Republic of Chinese documents.
