The Xiaosong Library was founded by Mr. Gao Xiaosong, a famous musician, director and writer in China.

The library was designed by You-Bai Jiang, a famous designer. Inspired by The Nanjing Circumvallation, Mr. Jiang designed book circumvallation that divides the space into four functioning areas, each with a particular theme. The library regularly invites well-known scholars, writers and artists to share with the readers their reading experience. Mr. Gao Xiaosong, You-Bai Jiang and a writer, Ye Zhaoyan joined the first sharing session. The Xiaosong Library has a collection of over 40,000 books, ranging from philosophy to children’s titles. The Library limits the number of visitors to 500 per day and requires advance appointment.
