Zhongshan Botanical Garden was formerly known as “Sun Yat-sen Memorial Arboretum”, and was built in 1929. China’s oldest arboretum, it is located in the Zhongshan Mountain Scenic Area in Nanjing. It covers an area of 186 hectares.
It lies close by Zhongshan Mountain, the Xiaoling Tomb of the Ming Dynasty and Meihua Mountain to the east, and the Ming Dynasty city walls to the south. The garden enjoys a mild climate, lush vegetation and forests, and it integrates mountains, water, city and forests. With its exquisite natural scenery, it is renowned as a “fairy land of plants” in Nanjing.
