Baochuanchang Shipyard Ruins Park is located in Zhongbao Village in Gulou District on the bank of Yangtze River, west of Nanjing. It is a large series of ruins built by the Nanjing authorities to commemorate the 600th anniversary of Zheng He’s voyages.
It integrates tourism, commemoration, exhibition and leisure. The attractions inside the park include the Memorial Archway, Zheng He Bell, Museum Square, Baochuan Museum, the Watchtower, the Ancient Shipyard, and the Treasure Sailing Vessel. The Memorial Archway is 16.52 meters wide and 10.82 meters high. The horizontal tablet is engraved with the characters “Baochuanchang Shipyard Ruins” and they were inscribed by the famous calligrapher Wu Zhongqi.
