Located at the northern foot of Tangshan  Mountain, the four-storied Homo Erectus Fossil  Site Museum has a floor area of over 25,000  square meters. There is a mezzanine between the  first and second floor. The whole building faces  north and backs against a mountain.

There are  four permanent exhibitions – “Tangshan – 700  Million Years of Vicissitudes”, “Hot Spring – Gift  of the Earth”, “Ape Man – Relics of Ancestors”  and “Karst Cave – Key to the Secrets for Millions  of Years”. The “Ape Man” and “Hot Spring” exhibitions offer free admission. The ape-man skulls  will be exhibited where they were found.

Museum displays the “Jiangnan Imperial  Silk Manufacturing”, “Celestial Cloths Made of  Yunjin Brocades”, “Dream of the Red Mansions”  and “Chinese Garden”. While appreciating them,  visitors can obtain historical and cultural knowledge to broaden horizons.

With a history of over 260 years, it witnessed the vicissitudes of the Qing Dynasty from  rise to fall. It ever received Qing emperors during  their southern inspection tours. Its weaving  workshop created the peak and glory of China’s  Yunjin brocades weaving technology.

The Oriental Metropolitan Museum exhibits the most complete range of cultural relics of  the Six Dynasties and gives a most systematic  introduction of the culture of the Six Dynasties. There are now four display halls themed  “Imperial Capital of the Six Dynasties”, “Qiangu  Fengliu (Glories through the Ages)”, “Liuchao  Fengliu (Glories in Six Dynasties)” and “Outstanding Personalities of the Six Dynasties”.

The museum was designed by the Pei Partnership Architects in America, covering a total  area of about 22,000 square meters.

This museum is located at No. 240 Chating  East Street, Jianye District in Nanjing. It is a  unique museum specializing in Yunjin Brocade.  In 2005, the museum was named as one of the  “New 48 Scenic Spots of Jinling”. The exhibition  hall of Nanjing Yunjin Museum covers an area  of more than 4,300 square meters.

The first floor  of the museum offers Yunjin items for sale and  there is also a Yunjin costume show. The north  side of the second floor is a display area for Yunjin large flower wooden looms, delicate copies of  ancient silk cultural relics and genuine Yunjin.  The third floor is Chinese Brocade Village. The  fourth floor is an area for showing off traditional  Yunjin weaving skills.
