Laoshan National Forest Park is located in  the northwestern suburbs of Nanjing in Jiangsu  Province, on the north bank of the Yangtze  River, across Pukou District. With a total area of  8,040 hectares and a forest coverage rate of 90%,  it is known as “Nanjing’s Green Lung” and a  “Natural Oxygen Bar”. The Park has steep mountains, towering ancient trees, green bamboo and  wonderful scenery. It is a good tourism resort  where people can “return to nature, and recover  one’s original simplicity”. It is a leisure and recreation resort characterized by eco-tourism and  it includes forest rustic charm, leisure and recreation, and health sports.

The park has extremely rich natural and cultural resources, including 726 kinds of plants and  242 kinds of animals. The boutique attractions  in the park include the Birds’ Garden, the Snake  Science Garden, the Laoying Mountain Watchtower, the First Jinling Drum, and the Number  One Scholar Square. Recreational attractions  include the Crazy Stones, the World of Warcraft,  the High-altitude Strop, and Grass Skiing, etc. In addition, Laoshan Mountain produces  so many native products including agrocybe cylindracea, black fungus, tricholoma matsutake,  hickories and pecans. This area is ideal for exploration and leisure.  But be prepared against mosquitos in summer.

Known as the best village for tea culture in  Jinling, Huanglongxian is famous for its tea to  go with the water in the middle of Yangtse River.  It was ever a mental post on the old post road  in southwest Nanjing.

There is a tea mountain  covering 133.33 hectares, a sea of bamboo  and a reservoir in the village. With the slogan  of “drinking the Huanglong tea in the village  leisurely”, it makes full use of the advantageous  natural resources to promote the folk customs  centering on tea.

Based on the Sea of Bamboo and the tourist  resources of Former Shitang, Later Shitang leads  the five most beautiful villages in Jiangning,  known as the “last treasure place” in Nanjing.  The Sea of Bamboo of Shitang has been reputed  as the “small Jiuzhai Village” in Nanjing, covering a continuous area of 2,000 hectares and  adjacent to the Jiulong Lake.

The tea mountain,  Sea of Bamboo and pine woods form the main  natural scenes in the village. The scenic areas  mainly include the Jiulong Lake, Wenzhu Pool  and Former Shitang Village. Their presence in  the village makes one feel like they are in a retreat away from the world. The beautiful scenery  varies through the four seasons.

There is one very novel and peculiar building in the southwestern corner of the ancient  city of Nanjing. Seen from afar, it looks like  a huge oval UFO floating over the beautiful  lakeside.

This is Nanjing Science & Technology  Museum. It is the largest venue dedicated to the  popularization of scientific knowledge in Jiangsu  Province. It covers a total area of 300,000 square  meters, which includes a main building area of  34,000 square meters. It was established with an  investment of 350 million Yuan. It comprises  four areas, namely the Film and Television Exhibition Area, the Youth Activity Area, the Tea  Sightseeing Area and the Wetlands Leisure Area.  It provides a space for the young to learn about  and understand the wonders of science.
